WISHMASTER LYRICS

We’re playing this song live on the “This World Is Ours Tour”, I figured I’d post the lyrics so you guys could start learning the words early!  This song is about all of our brothers and sisters fighting overseas so that people like us can pursue our dreams and play music all over the world.  Thank you for what you do.

WISHMASTER

We’re here to fight.

We’re here to die.

We’re here to save your life.

What do we say, when our backs are up against the wall?

The empire remains, and it will always.

We’ve come from all over the world.

We are the ones who stand as one. (Side by side)

If any man here fear their demise, then we’ve already lost.

We’re here to save the world.

And above all else, we’ll hunt the ones

who seek to destroy it.

You’re not alone, can’t be defeated.

We’ll protect you, when all others fail.

Tell me now, what would you give up?

My family, friends for a brotherhood.

Who stands to gain if we survive?

You probably weren’t born just to give your life.

Welcome to my life.

If you make it through today,

You might survive.

And above all else, we’ll hunt the ones

who seek to destroy it.

You’re not alone, can’t be defeated.

We’ll protect you, when all others fail.

I can’t believe the cost of what is right.

Reach for the light.

Know that we are here, we’ll always survive.

If you come ill prepared to die,

You’ve already lost.

If you come here and you give up.

You’ve already lost.

Lost the fight.

You might survive.

You might survive.

Welcome to my life.

You might survive.

You might survive.

And above all else, we’ll hunt the ones

who seek to destroy it.

You’re not alone in the world, we’re the night’s eyes.

We’ll protect you, when all others fail.

I can’t believe the cost of what is right.

Reach for the light.

Know that we’re here and we’ll always survive.

You might survive.

You might survive.

Welcome to my life.

You might survive.

You might survive.

Sickest thing ever, thanks to whoever made this!

SUBJECTS OF TWA’S NEW ALBUM

Hey guys, just wanted to shoot you guys an update on some of the topics I’ve chosen to write about on this next album.  I think most of them will be pretty relatable, since that is one of my main goals as a vocalist, is to connect an idea, a thought or feeling to the music the guys are playing.

So far I feel very connected with the music and it’s inspired me to write about a lot of things, as have just the changes the band and myself have endured throughout the time between Deceiver’s release and now.  I hope that when it’s all said and done, you guys will really appreciate the lyrical content on this album, since that is what is most important to me.

I’ll be talking about the death of my late grandfather, his impact on my life then and now.  I’ll be talking about those of you who fight for us in other countries, being away from all your families, and how honored I am to be a part of what helps keep your spirits high while over there.  Another topic is about what it is TRULY like to be on the road, touring in all sorts of countries, and the toll it can take on not just myself, but the people I love back home.  I’ve saved some anger/disappointment from the Deceiver album time frame to fill the void for those of you needing an angry song to relate to and let loose to, so don’t worry.  Although, this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life so writing about things that are dark, is a little tricky this time around.  I think it’s bettered me as a writer though and pushed me to look deeper into myself, and my past.  I’ve written a song already and you guys have seen the lyrics.  That song is really about stepping out from underneath someones shadow who thinks they are better than you, and that you don’t deserve to reach your full potential and basically completely disregarding that and living your life the best you can while you can.

There will be hope, there will be loss, there will be happiness, pain, anger and bitterness in this record.  Everything I’ve felt throughout my life, will be poured into this album.  I hope you’re ready, I know I am :)

Typical Band Dude Rant.

It’s been quite a long time since I felt passionate enough about a subject to write about it, and today reading the comments on our bands Facebook page after I made a post imploring FANS of our music, who have previously downloaded our albums, to actually purchase them (if possible) only to discover so much hatred anger and disrespect from those same “fans”.  This was how that makes me feel:

Reading the comments on my bands page disgusts me. It seriously is disheartening to read how many “fans” feel we have an obligation as musicians, to be broke and have our art stolen yet also complain when we can’t tour their city every tour, or get mad when we ask fans to actually BUY our art. What happened to truly supporting music, and loving the way music can make us feel? Appreciation? Music is magical, that’s why I’ve given up at times EVERYTHING I love, to create it for those who it impacts. I never saw this mentality growing up, and now that I’m a musician it scares me to think what the industry might look like in upcoming years.

To add to that:

I’ve been touring almost nonstop throughout various bands for the last 5 years, I’ve lost friends, I’ve missed family gatherings, funerals, weddings, I’ve had to be away from things that are more important to me than anything, like my family my friends who stand by me my girlfriend, and the life I have back home.  I’m 25 years old, I’m not this success hungry person, striving for an image or recognition.  I play my role in my band, I try to write the most meaningful music I can, along with my band who takes great pride in what we create together.  I’ve slept on floors, I’ve gone without food, I’ve toured sick without insurance or the money to provide medicine, I’ve endured a lot of things just like many of my peers have and can relate to.  Yes, this is part of my sacrifice as I have strived to push my music into various parts of the world.  But there comes a point where enough is enough, and it comes time to hang it up.  I’M NOT AT THAT POINT.  So no don’t think that this is me leaving TWA or what I’m doing.  It’s just the realization that the music industry as we know it, has been, and continues to fail.  As a lover of music myself, I can understand what impact a song or band can have on ones life.  There are songs that I listen to when I’m happy, when I’m sad, when I’m angry and each play a part to help balance out my emotions and thought process.

I guess all I’m trying to say, is that bands are not machines, we are people.  There are bands in this industry for the wrong reasons, and I think overall, people should be smart enough to realize who those bands are.  There are however A LOT of great bands, with good hearts and good intentions making amazing music who deserve all their accomplishments.  I know that while I’ve lost sight of who I am at times throughout my career, ultimately I can say I’m proud to be one of the musicians out there who strives for more, strives to improve because I want the fans who support us to feel like they got their monies worth EVERY show they see.  We try to spend as much time as we can talking with fans, and letting them know how much their support is needed and appreciated.  So thank you to the fans who support music, not just my own, but any band in any genre who has truly deserved your support.  I hope by reading this, you can be reminded by the fact that we as musicians, do try our best.  We tour the majority of the year, every single year.  Most of that is out of our control, venue restrictions are out of our control, prices and cost of goods are out of our control.  So much is, but YOU the fan, have the most control.  YOU can support your favorite bands, and I hope you will do so.

Mike Mowery said something to me not that long ago that will forever stick in my head “the current model is broken, it is designed to ultimately create tension and anger.”  This can change, we can be the change, fans, musicians, managers, labels, booking agents…  When will enough stand up to the black hole that is our industry, and try to create a better environment to continue to create and display our form of art.
